CAMPING: Good People, Good Times

No photos from Fossil Springs camping trip this weekend...

13 people, 7 dogs, and 1 kid. Swimming and a waterfall. Lots of tasty snacks and campy food, which everyone kindly shared. A heartwarming effort by everyone to keep the ground free of trash. Music, courtesy of Tim's battery-powered iPod speakers and a motley collection of bongos, a jaw harp, a didgeridoo. A hot during the day, but glorious at night camp site. Nobody else in sight. The stress just melted away :)

...so, I have all the photos I needed, filed away in a fond memory.

It's too bad the trip happened 'cause Phil and Julie are leaving :( I hope to inherit their friends and experience many wonderful camping trips in the future. And for my Phoenix peeps, if you haven't been to Fossil Springs, you're missing out!

I'm leaving Friday for my real vacation--10 days at Sandy Pond. Ahhh - I anxiously await time in my Zen place.

Mornings staring at the Pond and coffee with mom. Friends and family. Endless throwing of sticks and balls for Vegas. Bob's Fry Cakes. Squeaky cheese. Brewsters' fried haddock and salt potatoes. Homemade granola and NY sharp cheese from the Amish store. Corn on the cob (hopefully, it will be ready to eat--"Knee high by the 4th of July," right?). Devouring books at the beach. And nothing making noise but wind and water. I think we're also going to spread my Poppy's ashes. It's about time he joins Nana in the Pond.

Anyhoo, I hope you all have wicked fun July 4th extravaganzas! P.S.I think we're doing happy hour tomorrow or Wednesday to celebrate my birthday before I leave. It will probably be at Native New Yorker: quick and easy for the workplace homies. I'll let yinz guys know as soon as plans are definite.
